Gang of top supercars battle it out on Fuji track (+video)

A new video has been doing the rounds online and shows some of the World’s finest sports machines battling it out on the racetrack. A simple idea sure, but when it’s done with stock production models and a level playing field it makes for compelling viewing.

The all star cast includes the Lexus LFA and its main rivals, the Japanese Nissan GT-R, the American Corvette ZR1 and the European Porsche 911 GT2 RS. There’ s also a Ferrari 430 F1 thrown into the mix for good measure. The battle takes place on the Fuji Speedway and is fought over three laps.

The production cars are well matched on paper with the Lexus LFA powered by a 4.8-litre V10 engine with a 411kW output. The LFA can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 3.7 seconds. The 2012 Nissan GT-R facelift is powered by a 390kW engine and is capable of moving from 0-100 km/h in just 3 seconds. Chevy’s flagship, the Corvette ZR1, is powered by a 6.2-litre V8 LS9 engine delivering 482kW and has an official 0-100 km/h acceleration time of 3.6 seconds. Finally, Porsche’s top brass 911 GT2 RS, is powered by a 3.6 litre six-cylinder boxer engine with an output of 462kW. It’s 0-100 km/h sprint time is 3.5 seconds.

Well matched and ready to roll, click on the video below to see who comes out on top.
