1,500 model cars used in massive automotive art installation (+video)

If you had loads of money and plenty of time for clowning around, what would you do? Most of us would embark on some sort of automotive project but probably nothing like what appears in the video below.

Over in the States one man has indulged his passion for diecast cars and complicated yet pointless machinery. Called “Metropolis 2” this marriage-ending labour of love was created by nerdy artist Chris Burden. Built using 1,500 Hot Wheels, the installation is headed to the LACMA museum in America for a long-term loan in the near future. Art fans and 8 year-old boys alike can enjoy the mesmerizing miniature action that the contraption offers.
