Ferrari unveils Superamerica 45 custom special

The Special Projects team are showing off their coachbuilding skills once more with the release of its newest one-off special – the Superamerica 45. The 45 was made-to-measure for New York Billionare and car collector Peter Kalikow to celebrate the 45th anniversary of his first Ferrari purchase back in 1961. This special Ferrari will have its official debut at this weekend’s Villa d’Este Concorso d’Eleganza in Italy.

The Superamerica is based on the Ferrari 599 and was designed, engineered and built in-house. The car is distinguished from the ‘standard’ model by features like a carbon fiber rotating hardtop, as well as a completely redesigned boot cavity to house the roof while it’s dropped down. Other custom touches include brushed aluminum A-pillars, wing mirrors and door handles. Also included in the package is a special chrome front grille.
