Aston Martin One 77 testing video

March 9th, 2010 by Car and SUV

Aston Martin has just released a new video showing testing of its exclusive One-77 model on a race track.

The One-77 looks awesome and will be sourcing its power from a massive 7.3 litre V12 engine that will output 700 hp. This unit will take the car from 0 to 100 kph in just 3.5 seconds and on to a confirmed top speed ofย  354.86 km/h in dry conditions. The U.K company will only build 77 units of the aptly named One-77 with deliveries beginning for the lucky few at the middle of this year.

Aston Martin Cygnet officially revealed

March 4th, 2010 by Car and SUV

Aston Martin has used the Geneva Motor Show to release detailed information on it’s new luxury mini, the Cygnet.

It was first revealed that Aston was working on a city car based on the Toyota iQ back in June, with initial details and photos released half a year later. Now it’s known that the Cygnet will be powered by a 1.3 litre engine that produces 98bhp. The engine can be mated to either a six-speed manual or a CVT auto.

The idea behind the vehicle is to provide existing Aston owners with an urban tender in which to zip around congested city centers like London. There are three seating configurations available: a 2+2 seating system, a 2+1 or a 2-seater with decent luggage area. Standard specs include a sat nav system, iPod integration and a six-speaker CD stereo.

If you want a Cygnet of your own, all you have to do is buy a real Aston Martin first then you might be able to secure one.

Aston Martin introduces Carbon Black DBS and Vantage

December 21st, 2009 by Car and SUV

Giving a supercar the special edition treatment is all about excess, and Aston Martin is getting excessive with its new Carbon Black DBS and V12 Vantage.

The Carbon Black treatment consists of a bespoke paint color, the Carbon Black and for the V12 Vantage, the strake in the guards are made from carbon fibre backed by black mesh and 10-spoke alloy wheels. Both models get a bright-finish grille and front parking sensors. If that doesn’t sound special, it takes 50 man-hours of work to just paint the car.

Inside, lightweight carbon fibre/kevlar seats cut 18kg pounds out of the cabin. Elsewhere there’s piano black trim plus anodized aluminum black tread plates and unique sill plaques, leaving no doubt to the car’s black theme. The V12 Vantage gets the 700-Watt Premium Audio System while the DBS enjoys sound from Bang & Olufsen’s Beosound system.

In addition to the special look and equipment packages, new owners of the Carbon Black editions will also get a free ticket to the Aston Martin Performance Driving Course to test the cars out and learn their limits, but only in the UK and Europe, so buy your car there.

The Carbon Black editions can be ordered directly through the Aston Martin dealer network. Prices will start from about 5% above standard pricing, with first deliveries globally in March, 2010.
