Warehouse extension confirms Holden’s market commitment

Holden has confirmed it’s ongoing commitment to the New Zealand market today by unveiling a multi-million dollar extension to its national distribution centre in Mangere, South Auckland.

The 2500 square metre facility extension began in September 2015.

The now 7500 square metre national distribution centre holds more than 40,000 stock keeping units (SKU) for the Holden, AC Delco, and Isuzu Trucks automotive brands.

It is supporting 33 Holden dealers, 12 Isuzu master truck dealers, and 24 authorised service centres around New Zealand.

Labour MP for Mangere East S’ua William Sio joined Holden New Zealand managing director Kristian Aquilina for the official ribbon cutting ceremony, marking the formal opening of the warehouse extension.

Sio congratulated Holden on becoming a prominent employer within his electorate which he says has the highest number of young people available for employment.

Aquilina says the building extension represents a multi-million investment by GM Holden as it includes storage racks, and extending the existing canopy.

“This Warehouse represents a commitment to our presence both here in Mangere but also as a brand in New Zealand,” says Aquilina.

“This is a significant investment and illustrates a commitment on the part of the brand to serve Holden dealers and Holden-driving customers better,” says Aquilina.

Processing more than $6 million in parts transactions in August, the national distribution centre picks and distributes more than half a million parts to the dealer and service centre network annually.

As well as service consumables, the warehouse also holds stocks of collision repair panels, windscreens, and window glass, exhaust systems, as well as complete engines and transmissions.

A 3PL supplier Ceva Logistics are managing the facility for Holden New Zealand, employing more than 60 staff on site.
