Waikato dealership puts V8 Nissan back on track

Nissan will be joining the NZV8 championship – alongside the Ford, Holden and Toyota racers currently on track.

Waikato dealer Jim Wright Nissan has sponsored Waikato-based Concept Motorsport to campaign a new Nissan Altima 4.8-litre V8.

The car will be driven by Nick Ross who secured the 2014 NZV8 overall championship earlier this year in a Holden Commodore.

Ross is no stranger to the Nissan brand and Jim Wright Nissan. The wider Ross family and their earthmoving business currently operates a fleet of more than 50 Nissan vehicles, including a Patrol, a GTR and a Maxima Spec R.

The NZV8 Nissan Altima has been under construction for the past twelve months, and the build team has had the benefit of on-going technical assistance from the Kelly Racing team in Australia.

Jim Wright Nissan has also provided Concept Motorsport with a road going Altima “shadow car” that looks like the racing vehicle to further promote its association with the venture.

The dealership says the shadow car will be seen daily ensuring that the company’s exposure is not just confined to race days and promotional events.

Jim Wright Nissan says the support of Concept Motorsport demonstrates it’s commitment to Nissan, but also to further strengthen its relationship with an important client.

“We want to see Nissan back on the race track in NZ in the capable hands of Nick Ross, and with the support of the team we are sure we will be noticed, and look forward to celebrating their successes,” says the company in a statement.
