Volkswagen Tristar concept unveiled at IAA Hannover

To mark the 30th anniversary of it’s first Syncro concept car, Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles will unveil a new concept based on the T5 Transporter at the IAA commercial vehicle trade fair currently being held in Hannover, Germany.

The commercial vehicle trade fair will run from September 24 to October 2

The short-wheelbase extended-cab Volkswagen Tristar concept pick-up has a permanent four-wheel drive system with a mechanical rear axle differential lock, and 30mm additional ground clearance.

Autodesk VRED Professional 2014 SR1-SP7 VW designers have developed a high-precision familiar design language for the Tristar concept vehicle: it says the sharp, wrap-around lines, LED headlights and a changed architecture give it a powerful and wide appearance.

The monolithic dashboard is reminiscent in its shape and simple functionality of the earlier VW Transporter models according to VW designers.

The load can be distributed on two separate levels: there is a spacious, dust-proof and watertight drawer under the flatbed section, where a spare tyre is also housed.

Autodesk VRED Professional 2014 SR1-SP7The interior has a 20-inch tablet table and state-of-the-art video conferencing and sound systems alongside the turning and sliding driver and passenger seats, turning the Tristar into the perfect place for meetings.

VW Commercial Vehicles says it even thought of having an espresso machine installed inside the cabin of the Tristar.

Tristar can be used as a mobile workshop, a mobile high-tech office or a surfing vehicle says VW. It is intended as versatile tool for end users such as an architect, film crew, service technican, or landscape gardener.
