Toyota NZ celebrates 50 years with social media campaign

Toyota is celebrating 40 years of Hilux and 50 years of operation in New Zealand with a social media campaign called ‘Give your Lux some Luv.’

“The campaign invites our passionate Hilux advocates to share their stories through our online and social media channels with one ultimate fan spending $20,000 in upgrades to refine or revamp their faithful Hilux, on us,” says Toyota New Zealand Digital and Communications, Marketing Manager Morgan Dilks.

“The campaign speaks to the heritage of Hilux that has been prevalent in New Zealand since the model’s arrival 40 years ago, and a backbone of Toyota’s 50 years in New Zealand,” says Dilks.

“We are providing a platform for Hilux customers to share their unique stories, which more often than not, involve their trusty workhorse being put through their paces tackling everyday adventures exclusive to the Kiwi lifestyle,” he says.

“Getting our ambassadors on board (Mark Ellis, Jason Kerrison, Matt Watson) gives the winner an adventure in itself with a day toughing it out with other like-minded Hilux enthusiasts,” says Dilks.
