Thumbs up for Bluetooth audio safety message trial

A world-first trial by the NZ Transport Agency in partnership with HMI Technologies and GO Rentals to send Bluetooth audio safety messages to rental car drivers between Christchurch and Queenstown is proving successful.

GO Rentals general manager James Dalglish says the company have 60 devices across its fleet on South Island.

“We’re running the proof of concept over three months,” he says. He adds that trial feedback “has been incredibly positive from both Kiwi and international customers”.

“The trial has shown how intelligent technology has improved safety on a busy Kiwi road.”
