SSC revamps Aero for 2009

SSC aero fq

Not content with just taking the Guinness-verified top speed world record, SSC has revamped its Aero for 2009 to increase power, make it more aerodynamic, and even faster. The 2008 model had plenty of grunt with 1183 horses under the bonnet, but SSC has increased that number to 1287hp thanks to a new one-piece billet aluminum engine block that improves strength and oiling capabilities. Helping with aerodynamics is a redesigned front fascia with a new centre grille opening, as well as carbon fibre louvers that feed 20% more air to the radiators. The aerodynamic upgrades, and the new block create an estimated 430 kph top speed. SSC has also refreshed the interior adding carbon fibre trim to the dash, air vents, door sills, and around the instrument cluster. A new centre console features a hig-tech information system that can process the car’s onboard diagnostics. There’s no word on if SSC will attempt to beat their top speed record achieved earlier this year, but we’re sure SSC would like to further distance themselves from high-speed competitors the Bugatti Veyron and 9ff GT9.
