More refined Holden Trax into dealerships

Holden has launched a much improved model year 2015 Holden Trax compact SUV, with the addition of a top of the range 1.4-litre turbo LTZ model, to build on its 11% market share of the segment in New Zealand.

Year to date Holden’s compact SUV has sold more than 371 units, it lies fourth in the under $40k market behind the Mitsubishi ASX (410), Suzuki SX4 S-Cross (431) and the Hyundai ix35 (897).

The 1.4-litre iTi engine is coupled with a 6-speed automatic transmission and this LTZ model will sit above the 1.8-litre engine in the expanded Trax line-up, offering customers an engine option that provides 103kW of power and 200Nm of torque, with fuel economy of 6.9L/100km.

The new 1.4-litre Trax LTZ introduces rain sensing wipers, a driver’s arm rest, new 18 inch alloy wheels and a sunroof as standard features.

The current 1.8-litre LTZ model also receives there features as standard, with exception of the sunroof, which is only available on the new 1.4-litre LTZ.

These new additions join the seven-inch touch-screen with MyLink embedded apps, rear view camera and BluetoothTM phone and audio streaming which is available on all 2015 Trax models.

Holden New Zealand managing director, Jeff Murray says the improvements on the 2015 Trax have built on the success and feedback received on the current vehicle and provides an additional option to customers.

“The Trax brought a Holden small SUV to customers for the very first time. We are committed to building on the early successes of Trax and we’ll continue to respond to customers’ needs,” says Murray.

“With the introduction of the Trax 1.4 iTi engine and added features in 2015, we are confident that this car will appeal to even more people.

“The Trax continues to ride well with the engine and transmission calibrations, as well as suspension tuning, completed by the engineering team at Holden’s Lang Lang Proving Ground,” says Murray.

The Trax goes on sale this month, and is available in a wide range of exterior colour choices including the introduction of Blaze Red.
