Ranger claims consecutive double award win

Ford’s Ranger XLT ute has claimed a double win in NZ4WD magazine’s 4WD of The Year Awards for the second consecutive year.

Not only did the Ranger win the 4WD Ute of The Year category for the third year in a row, but it also headed off a range of other SUV, wagon and luxury 4WD models to claim the overall New Zealand 4WD of The Year title for 2015.

“Utes are hot at the moment,” says the magazine’s editor, Ross MacKay, “ and the Ranger continues to set the agenda and the pace, both in the sector and overall.”

The Ford Ranger XLT ute was one of five category winners in the 2015 awards.

The others were:

  • Compact 4WD SUV of the Year: Suzuki Vitara
  • Medium 4WD SUV of the Year: Land Rover Discovery Sport
  • 4WD Wagon of the Year: Toyota Prado
  • Luxury 4WD of the Year: Volvo XC 90

NZ4WD magazine says it is the voice of the recreational 4WD sector in this country.
