Pricing and local specification has just been announced for Range Rover’s all new Evoque. The compact SUV is expected to arrive in New Zealand before the end of the year will be available from $79,990
The Evoque will be available with a choice of three engines, two body styles, three design themes and a range of customization options and accessories.
It will be available in two body shapes a 5-door and a 2-door Coupe with initial deliveries starting from November.
The Evoque will touch down in three design themes: Pure, Dynamic and Prestige and there will be optional equipment and styling packs. Options available include three contrasting roof treatments, seven alloy wheel designs, 16 contrasting interiors and a full sized, fixed, panoramic glass roof. Standard features will include push button start, electric park brake, rear parking aid, colour TFT information screen, 6/4 way adjustable electric seats.
All Evoques will come with a six speed automatic 4WD transmission. Manual gearbox models will only be available to specific customer order.
Engine options include both petrol and diesel powerplants. The updated 2.2-litre turbo diesel has 110kWs or 140kWs derivatives. The new 177kW 2.0-litre Si4 petrol engine combines direct fuel injection, turbo charging and twin variable valve timing for a rapid 0- 100kph sprint time of 7.6 seconds.
The 2-door Evoque Coupè provides two individual rear seats, with the no cost option of a three-seat bench if preferred. The Evoque 5-door offers more practicality with a roofline that stands 30mm higher than the Coupe, and delivers extra head and shoulder room for rear seat passengers.
The engine, transmission, drive and design theme combinations available are as follows:
- TD4 diesel 110kW 6-speed automatic 4WD (Pure, Dynamic, Prestige)
- SD4 diesel 140kW 6-speed automatic 4WD (Pure, Dynamic, Prestige)
- Si4 petrol 177kW 6-speed automatic 4WD (Pure, Dynamic, Prestige)
In place of more conventional trim levels, the three design themes have been developed specifically for the Evoque. There’s ‘Pure’, with a basic contemporary feel; ‘Dynamic’, which is sportier and ‘Prestige’, which is focused on luxury. Each theme has it’s own take on exterior styling, interior appointments and equipment specifications.

ouch! makes BMW pricing look like a bargain…
UK price in $NZ – 54k, US – 54K, Aus – 70k, NZ base prive 80k, why such a disparity? 16k to get from UK/US to NZ and 10k from Aus to NZ. The middlemen will continue to make sure NZers persevere with limited options in affordable price brackets. A 60k loaded Hilux will remain a better and more versatile option and have a better 5 year re-sale.
These prices are just crazy. At NZ$54k, I would have bought one. I agree with Steve, the mark ups are just silly. If the dealers priced accordingly, then perhaps the NZ public would upgrade to nice, new, European vehicles.
As it is, I will stick with my Toyota Truck.
Ouch ! is so right. Might even be worthwhile buying in the UK and importing to NZ
You think that NZ prices are expensive !!!
I live in Beijing, and my partner has just bought the top of the line Si4 Prestige – cost in NZ$ of $145,400. She thought nothing of parting with $$$$ – told her she was crazy, but …. there it is!!
Me – I stick with my 1 year old Nissan Qashqai bought new for NZ$ 28,500.
The girl wouldn’t be seen driving my car !!!!!!!!!
Yeah. It’s pretty easy to import a car. We are looking at a holiday in the UK, buy one when we get there, drive around for a bit, put it on a boat and back to NZ! It’s a global market now, localised pricing is unsustainable.
