New Mercedes E-Class gets the Brabus treatment

Brabus E-Class Coupe fq

Mercedes tuning specialists Brabus has stepped up to offer a comprehensive tuning package for the latest Mercedes E-Class Coupe, and it’s started with the engine.

The German firm has increased the 5.5-litre engine to 6.1-litres to achieve 462 hp and 454 lb-ft of torque — up from 383 hp and 391 lb-ft. The result is a 0-100 kph time of 4.7-seconds and a top-speed of 315 kph.

The styling is reasonably subdued compared to other Brabus’ vehicles, and includes new front and rear bumpers, 20-inch wheels and fashionable front LEDs. Coilover suspension lowers the coupe and firms up the ride, while six-piston aluminum calipers clamp 14.2-inch vented and cross-drilled brakes up front.

The package costs 39,000 euros, and if you’re more interested torquey diesel performance, Brabus is in the process of creating a tuned E250 CDI BlueEfficiency with many of the same upgrades.
