New images of the VW Golf GTI VI

For devoted VW lovers, a batch of new images of the upcoming Golf GTI VI have just been released. The new GTi will become available in Germany first with eager buyers getting their hands on the anitcipated vehicle in the next few days. The Mk 6 Golf is scheduled for launch here in NZ next month, but it may be a while longer before we see the GTI variant.

The new go-fast model is powered by a 2.0-litre tsi four-cylinder with 210hp and 206 lb-ft of torque bolted to either a six-speed manual or dual clutch gear box. With only 10 extra horses given, it easy to assume the engine is simply a revision of the outgoing engine, but according to VW the unit is all new. The 0-100kmh sprint should be achieved in under 6.9 seconds.
