New Citroen C4 due in NZ mid-2011

Details have just been released on the new Citroën C4. The French automaker is calling it “all new”, but it’s still based on the platform of the outgoing model. However, all the sheetmetal is fresh, the dimensions have enlarged and the equipment list is impressive.

What sort of new tech is included in the French hatch? Well, try Xenon adaptive headlights, lane departure and blind-spot warning systems, hill start assist, user-changeable backlighting in the cabin and a new system called eTouch which monitors driving patterns and offers suggestions on how to improve fuel economy. There is also a cruise-control system with speed-limiter and memory settings.

Engine options have yet to be announced but will likely remain the same, with the addition of the new e-HDi hybrid diesel/electric drivetrain. The new C4 will debut at the Paris Motor Show this September and will have a New Zealand launch mid-2011.
