Mitsubishi applies Lancer GSR strategy to ASX

Following the sales success of the Lancer GSR sedan, Mitsubishi hopes to do the same with the upgraded 2015 ASX which also features a competitive price point.

Mitsubishi is hoping to turn more than just heads with its 2015 ASX XLS 2WD model at an introductory price of $29,990 plus on road costs.

It’s joined by a new VRX model, with both vehicles sporting improvements such as revised CVT transmission mapping, resulting in improved fuel efficiency of 7.4L/100km.

There are 17 inch machine-finished alloys and a new Electric Blue colour option, while the ASX XLS also receives sports seat trim.

Both models have a 5-star ANCAP safety rating, and the VRX has the added benefit of LED daytime-running lamps.

Mitsubishi head of sales and marketing strategy Daniel Cook says the ASX’s broad appeal has made an impression on the market since its introduction in 2010.

“ASX has won praise for its style, compact size and practicality,” says Cook.

“The 2015 model year improvements will build on that and its now follows the lead of our recent Lancer GSR promotion.

“Demand was so strong for the Lancer GSR sedan that we sold out and had to order more stock – that indicates that Kiwis are looking to buy great-value vehicles. We’re confident that the new ASX will be equally well-received.”
