Mini NZ joins charity run

Mini New Zealand has again partnered with organisers of the Pork Pie Charity Run and is throwing its support behind the bi-annual event which gets underway this Easter.

Starting in Kaitaia on Friday and finishing in Invercargill six days later, the 50 Minis participating in the length-of-the-country drive will be raising money for KidsCan – and have raised more than $100,000 for the charity already.

“The event is not only an opportunity to relive the classic ‘Goodbye Pork Pie’ movie and retrace the original route through the country, but to also gather MINI drivers and enthusiasts from all over the nation for this true Kiwi event,” says Mini marketing manager Simonne Mearns.

Mini is kitting the teams out with branded gear, as well as prize packs over the duration of the drive, plus supplying a fleet of cars for use on the event.

The fourth Pork Pie Charity Run commences on April 3 in Kaitaia and ends after more than 2,500kms in Invercargill on April 8. Overnight stops are in Taupo, Wellington, Kaikoura, Greymouth and Alexandra and it is possible to track the event at
