Lotus Elite GT Preview

Lotus Elite GT Preview

Its debatable, but it seems Lotus has been in need of a new design revolution for a long time coming — the next generation is finally here with this very tidy looking Lotus Elite GT. The first images and details on the new addition to the Lotus range have just been released in preparation for the Paris Motor Show.

It’s a car of substance incorporating some of the very latest technological innovations Lotus has to offer. The slick retractable hard top version and the optional use of hybrid technology with KERS are typical examples of Lotus tailoring technology to deliver performance.

It sports a version of the 5.0-litre V8 from the Lexus IS F, working in unison with the unique automatic transmission with optional integrated hybrid boost. A mammoth 611 horsepower is on call. Lotus estimates 0-62 mph times in a scant 3.6 seconds and its 315 km/h top speed would be enough to launch it into the super car league.

The current car on show is a conceptual preview of the production model, preparing to hit the market in 2014 with an approximate £115,000 ($250,000) dent to the bank.
