Lexus LFA is a total sellout

When Lexus priced its LFA supercar at over half a million NZ dollars many wondered if they could get that sort of money. Now, any doubts have been answered by reports that all 500 examples of the 552-horsepower LFA are officially sold out. Their always seems to be a healthy market for ultra-rare exotics with low production quotas. But the interesting part is that the LFA is being accepted by the European elite with reports that one-third of pre-sold LFAs are heading straight for the land of Porsche, Mercedes-Benz and BMW. Lexus even schmoozed eight of the German LFA owners at the recent 24 Hours of Nurburgring race with some wining and dining.

Lexus hasn’t announced exactly how many LFAs would go to what areas of the globe, but apparently Toyota’s luxury arm is going to hand-pick which perspective buyers will gain the right to own the LFA. Might be too exclusive to ever see one down here in humble NZ, but you just never know.
