Land Rover appoints Dan Carter brand ambassador

Now that Dan Carter is no longer an All Black and tied to a sponsored Ford vehicle, Land Rover is now snapping him up to drive in its brand ambassador programme.

Retiring All Blacks are hot property to other automotive brands, Mercedes-Benz couldn’t wait to get their hands on the former captain and now a full time professional helicopter pilot Richie McCaw, and Waikato-based Stephen Donald goes white baiting in a sponsored Holden Colorado.

Carter is a two-time Rugby World Cup winner and three times World Rugby player of the year, and he joins a line-up of Land Rover ambassadors including another former number ten Jonny Wilkinson, and England coach Sir Clive Woodward.

He now plays in France for Racing Metro 92, and his first involvement with Land Rover was sailing as Sixth Man during the Louis Vuitton America’s Cup World Series in Toulon last weekend.

In his capacity as a global ambassador, Carter will be working with the Land Rover brand on some projects, including supporting its position within rugby.

“Land Rover also has a proud heritage within rugby; from the grassroots level all the way to the elite,” Carter says. “This helps players, clubs and fans to enjoy the game that is such a big part of my life.”

To join the iconic British brand and support its involvement in rugby and teams such as Land Rover BAR was an easy decision for me and one I am incredibly excited to be part of,” he says.
