Kumho Tyres create innovative electric concept SUV

Kumho Fortis concept fq

Rubber specialist Kumho Tyres has tried its hand at developing a concept vehicle called the Kumho Fortis, which was created in-house by designer Rob Dolton.

The idea behind the Kumho Fortis is an SUV that can be driven well on- and off-road while surviving even greener future legislation. The Kumho Fortis is an electric vehicle powered by Lithium ion battery packs that can be recharged or even exchanged on longer journeys. The vehicle features four 100hp chassis-mounted motors, one for each wheel, which can offer a clever transition between 4WD, 2WD, FWD and RWD.

The Fortis will also feature tyres with adjustable treads which can be adapted depending on the road surface. Another further innovation with the concept is body panels which are made from recycled tyre rubber.

There is no word yet on the future development for the Kumho Fortis concept.
