Kiwi racer gets own Volvo

In a move that harks back to the Radisch Telstar and Millen Maxima, young Kiwi V8 SuperCar driver Scott McLaughlin now has a car bearing his name.

Volvo has released details of the Scott McLaughlin Limited Edition S60 and V60 Polestar models, ten of which are to be sold here in New Zealand.

Based on Volvo’s existing S60 and V60 Polestar models, the new editions get Ohlins adjustable suspension, Brembo 6-piston brakes, and unique Scott McLaughlin detailing among other changes.

Able to sprint to 100km/h in 4.9 seconds they will retail at $95,990 for the sedan and $97,990 for the wagon. Just ten will be available.

McLaughlin is excited about the new opportunity.

“It’s great that Volvo New Zealand have given me this unique opportunity to create a Limited Edition model having had some input into the development of the car in Sweden,” he says. “I’m loving my time being a factory Volvo driver and I look forward to coming back to New Zealand in the near future for the track day with the owners of the cars.”
