Jaguar puts XJ Coupe into development

Jaguar is making plenty of moves at the moment with the latest being a mass expansion to its current lineup. In addition to a rumored small sedan to take on the BMW 3 Series, Jaguar is looking at building a larger luxury two door coupe based on its new 2011 XJ sedan.

Apparently, sources within Jaguar say that the XJ coupe will feature a pillarless design with a full glass roof and will use completely separate sheetmetal from the sedan it’s based on. Adrian Hallmark, brand manager for Jaguar in Europe, says that the two-door XJ will be “much more dynamic and emotional than a Mercedes CL.”

Hallmark went on to say that Jaguar is considering a whole bunch of new models which could include an XF wagon, a high-end sports car based on the C-X75 concept, a crossover vehicle and even a possible shooting break version of the next-generation XF.
