Jaguar confirms quicker and more vicious XKR coupe

Jaguar has confirmed recent rumours that a faster and more brutal version of its XKR coupe will be produced later this year. According to reports, the car will be based off of the XKR Goodwood Special (pictured), and has already been testing at the Nürburgring with an impressive lap time of 7 minutes, 58 seconds. Not too shabby at all.

While official details on powertrain and chassis upgrades haven’t been revealed yet, the Goodwood Special XKR provides some clues. Expect the supercharged 5.0-litre V8 to get a power increase (from currently having 530 horsepower and 515 pound-feet of torque), as well as lowered suspension, reworked exhaust and larger wheels.

Jaguar has also confirmed that this new XKR will have a top speed of at least 300-kph. That’s enough power to get anyone into trouble.

The only request from Jaguar fans worldwide is for this hot XKR to be mercifully spared the lime green paint job.
