Honda chief green-lights V8 engine

Honda V8

Honda CEO Takeo Fukui has reportedly approved production of Honda’s first V8 production engine. This new motor is rumoured to run at around 313 kilowatts and displace a little under five litres.

Apparently the decision was made due to Honda inability to compete in the luxury market with their V6 powered Legend sedan and MDX SUV. Not much is known about the new engine as yet, but it is expected to hit the streets in 2010. As always, we will bring you more info as it comes to hand.
