Holden offering ‘pay as you go’ motoring

Holden is targeting younger buyers with its new Spark small car – and is launching a new finance option to suit.

The company is offering the car on a subscription-style finance system. Included in the $99 weekly payment is servicing, warranty, insurance and roadside assistance.

The fine print shows the deal is a three-year finance agreement at 9.99% pa. The car can be handed back at the end of the term or a $7000 balloon payment made. Holden’s usual partner Heartland is behind the deal

“Kiwis are familiar with subscription based services such as mobile phones and pay TV, and this is simply an extension of this as it too relies on a weekly payment – but we believe this is the first time it’s been done in New Zealand with a car,” says Holden New Zealand managing director Kristian Aquilina.

“We are always looking for ways to make driving a new Holden a hassle-free experience for our customers, so ‘add fuel and go’ makes driving a new Spark LS more accessible and attainable than ever before.”

“We anticipate this promotion will resonate with recent graduates and those starting out in the workforce, as it is a very manageable weekly payment,” says Aquilina.

“Holden also offers a variety of options at the end of the three-year agreement as the driver has the ability to buy the car outright, upgrade to a new model or simply return the car and end the subscription.”

“We’ve enjoyed a fantastic response to the launch of the new Holden Spark and want to extend the opportunity to drive the new model to even more people,” says Aquilina.
