When it comes to modern muscle car news it’s been one-way traffic for the Chevrolet Camaro this week. First the Camaro ZL1 set a smoking hot time of 7:41.27 at the Nurburgring closely followed by Chevrolet announcing that the 2012 Camaro ZL1 convertible will be launching next month (read news). Now to finish the week in style, specialist American tuner Hennessey has revealed its latest special edition – 20th Anniversary Edition Camaro.
It’s not the Camaro’s 20th anniversary, but it is Hennessey’s 20th birthday so the tuner is going big with this celebratory Camaro. Officially named the HPE650 Camaro, this muscle car packs 655 horsepower achieved by fitting a TVS2300 supercharger. There’s also a new cam, replacement headers and intake and exhaust upgrades.
The upgraded engine can be matched with either a six-speed manual or automatic transmission and the hot Camaro will sprint to 100 km/h in around 3.8 seconds and cover the quarter mile in 11.7 seconds.
The special Camaro also receives a lowered suspension set up, front splitter and side skirts and Hennessey Monoblock wheels in chrome or silver finish. HPE650 badging can be found around the exterior, while 20th Anniversary logos feature inside on the floor mats, engine plaques and serial-numbered dash. A black leather interior with Hennessey-embroidered headrests finishes the look.
Production of the 20th Anniversary packages will be limited to just 20 on the 2012 Camaro 2SS/RS coupe and convertible models.

Dodge used cars like the Viper was introduced to the North American public back in 1989. The Chrysler Motor Corporation unveiled the pro-type at the Detroit Motor show with such huge success, that the company decides to go ahead with the brand. The first Dodge Viper came on the scene of American streets in 1991 and has been a fixture on the roads ever since. I decided to research Dodge Vipers that were from 1991 to the early 2000′s. This actually is one of my most favourite sports cars because of the mean looking design and the power it posses.
