‘Goldie’ signs on with BMW

Former dual-international rugby player and cricketer Jeff Wilson has signed on a new partnership with BMW New Zealand.

Wilson is now a rising star on the other side of the camera appearing on TV as a highly regarded presenter and sports commentator.

He will now be an ambassador for the brand, and is driving a new BMW X5.

“The decision to become a BMW Ambassador was really straight forward – I jumped at the opportunity when it was presented as it’s a brand I’ve long admired and have been drawn to because of what it represents,” says Wilson.

“BMW is also actively involved in a number of sporting fields in which I have a strong interest, including golf and the upcoming BMW NZ Open in Queenstown.

“I also have a passion in horse racing, which dovetails nicely with BMW New Zealand’s recently announced partnership with on-track equine endeavours,” Wilson says.

BMW NZ managing director, Nina Englert, says the addition of Jeff Wilson would add a particular international sporting element to BMW’s group of ambassadors.

“It’s absolutely fantastic to have a world-recognised and esteemed sports person such as Jeff as part of our family and we look forward to involving him in events such as the BMW NZ Golf Open in March, our Ultimate Drive Days as well as Alpine xDrive Experience,” says Englert.

Jeff Wilson joins entrepreneurial shoe designer Kathryn Wilson and Michelin-star chef Josh Emett as fellow BMW Ambassadors.
