Geely borrows London taxi design hints for Englong cab concept

In a recent development Chinese automaker Geely is on the verge of introducing a London taxi styled vehicle at the upcoming Shanghai Motor Show.

Sounds strange? It’s not really because Geely is part owner of Manganese Bronze, which makes the famous black cabs for the UK market. While the costly cabs work well in the UK, a high-priced cab in China may not prove profitable. For that reason Geely has prepared and is ready to show it’s concept named the Englong SC7-RV in Shanghai shortly.

Unlike the UK taxi which has a platform designed and built solely for its purposes the Englong SC7-RV will reportedly use a platform from Geely’s existing fleet. And with cheaper parts and production likely to take place in China, pricing should be fairly low. It’s not a bad looker either… for a taxi.
