Full Throttle car event revs up this weekend in Auckland

This Labour Weekend will be the third time the Full Throttle event has been held at the TelstraClear Pacific Events Centre in Manukau, Auckland. Like in previous years there is something for all types of car fans with muscle cars, hot rods, mustangs, classic cars and drift cars all on display. There is even the start of the Dunlop Targa rally to check out on Tuesday.

There’s a huge range of vehicles on show and in action, all for free. Last year, over 25,000 people came out to watch all the action.

Each day is themed to attract a variety of car enthusiasts and spectators. Saturday is the day to see some yester-year classic and vintage rides. Featuring the NZ Mustang Convention, 150 mustangs will fill the TelstraClear Pacific events centre. Hot rods, muscle cars, restored and collector’s vehicles including military vehicles will also be a feature of this day. The day will end with a drive-in movie on the large outdoor screen.

On the Sunday it’s time for the 4 & Rotary Supershow, where performance cars, muscle and drift cars will battle it out to be best in show. There will be drifting demonstrations, soundoffs and motokhana where drivers put their skills to the test on grass and tarmac short courses.

Monday’s big attraction is the Dunlop Targa Rally Preview. See $25 million plus of Targa cars and their drivers in action before watching the rally start on Tuesday morning.

Full Throttle will appeal to everyone in the family, not just keen motor fanatics. Over the three days there will be live music, emergency services demonstrations and rescues, and other performances to keep everyone entertained.
