Exclusive dealer track days for RC F Carbon

Exclusive dealer track days for RC F Carbon

The newly launched RC F Carbon coupe will be available by order only from Lexus dealers; meaning each car ordered for New Zealand will come with a degree of personalisation to suit the buyer.

“Making the RC F Carbon available by dealer order ensures exclusivity when it comes to ownership in New Zealand,” says Lexus New Zealand product general manager Neeraj Lala.

“Lexus is also working with its dealers to establish a year-round Lexus track day programme, so that owning an RC F Carbon will be a unique experience.”

The new RC F Carbon arrives with a host of additional performance features and styling cues which takes its place as the new halo model in Lexus’ expanding performance lineup.

At the heart of the performance offering is the first ever specially-developed Atkinson & Otto Cycle 5.0-litre V8 engine – producing 351kW of power and 530Nm of torque.

The RC F Carbon features a torque vectoring rear differential as standard, and a carbon fibre exterior package that sees a carbon fibre bonnet, roof and active rear wing fitted.

The carbon fibre treatment is extended to the interior trim, while unique “F”-branded alcantara sports seats complete the interior upgrades.

The exterior upgrade is finished with the addition of unique 19-inch, dual ten-spoke forged alloy wheels (255/35/R19 Front, 275/35R19 Rear).

Lexus says it is the standard torque vectoring differential (TVD) system that offers the RC F Carbon’s greatest performance enhancement from the RC F.

The RC F is the world’s first rear wheel-drive performance coupe to offer a multi-stage driver-selectable torque vectoring differential system that no longer relies on the braking system to maintain control.

This technology effectively provides the RC F Carbon with rear-wheel steering, without altering the angle of the rear wheels.

By automatically adjusting drive force being delivered to the wheels, the vehicle delivers a more agile turning action, less understeer and better apex tracking.

Braking is another strong point of the RC F performance package; developed by Brembo for the RC F and performance tested at the famed Nürburgring circuit.

The coupe’s 380mm brake rotors at the front with six piston calliper, and 345mm brake rotors at the rear with four piston calliper ensure a confident and consistent action.
The RC F Carbon is now available to order from Lexus dealers and retails from $174,900.
