DS 5 voted best production car at Geneva show

Not only did the Citroen DS 5 make its world debut at the Geneva International Motor Show, it was voted “best production car in show” by two key French media outlets.

Citroen says the award is important both for the car – set for launch in Europe in June 2015 – and for the DS Brand, which is currently in full launch phase.

Following the Divine DS concept car’s “best concept car” prize at the Paris Motor Show in September 2014, the flagship of the DS Brand, was singled out as “best production car in show” at Geneva by two French media outlets Auto Plus magazine and RTL radio.

The award was based on the votes of the readers and listeners of the two media companies, after a two-week voting period in which they were able to choose their favourite model. Near forty cars were in the running in four categories – production car, green car, concept car and the favourite car of children.

The new DS 5 was selected by 30% of category voters, amongst 14 competitors.

These voters were won over by the DS 5’s styling – and notably its vertical and sculptural grille – along with its refinement, detailing and high-tech technologies, including the DS LED Vision technology headlights and cockpit-style driver’s station with a 7-inch touchscreen.
