Daimler revealing more pickup details soon

Daimler will announce further details this month on the design, strategy, and markets for it’s new Mercedes-Benz pickup that it is jointly developing with the Renault-Nissan Alliance.

Daimler and the Alliance started the joint development of the first Mercedes-Benz pickup truck in 2015 saying it will share some of its architecture with the all-new Nissan NP300.

Last week at the Paris Motorshow the joint venture partners advised media the new Mercedes-Benz light commercial is taking shape and set-up of the Alliance’s production facilities in Spain and Argentina is fully on track.

The new Mercedes-Benz pickup will be engineered and designed by Daimler to address the needs of its customers in Europe, Australia, South Africa and Latin America.

It will have all of Mercedes-Benz’ distinctive characteristics and features.

Production of the Mercedes-Benz pickup truck will take place at the Renault plant in Cordoba, Argentina, and at Nissan’s Barcelona plant in Spain, which are also producing the Nissan NP300 Frontier and the Renault Alaskan.
