Carver declares bankruptcy and ceases production

Carver Europe, the Dutch company responsible for the creating the unique Carver One three-wheeler, has just declared bankruptcy and powered down production.

It was never going to appeal to everyone but the Carver One boasted an advanced and innovative automatic tilting mechanism that improved manoeuvrability while looking fairly cool in the process. Global demand for special three-wheelers was mortally wounded by the economic recession, leaving Carver with little market for its only road-going product.

The company was originally formed to manufacture and market its tilting technology (Dynamic Vehicle Control) to the major automakers, but the Carver One quickly became its sole source of income.

Only 200 Carver Ones have been sold in the past two years, falling short of the company’s targets. A major supply deal had apparently been sorted between Carver and another company, but it never reached fruition. However, while Carver Europe has gone bust, the division responsible for marketing its Dynamic Vehicle Control system still remains active.
