C-Class range sports Twin-turbo V6

Mercedes-Benz New Zealand has ingeniously created a bridge between its standard C-Class range and the halo AMG C 63 V8 – the C 43.

Available in sedan, estate and coupe, the AMG C 43 features a twin-turbocharged V6 petrol, producing 270kW of power and 520Nm of torque. Mercedes says the engine uses special cylinder liners developed through the brand’s F1 work.

The C 43’s engine is paired to the 9G-Tronic transmission and 4Matic all-wheel drive.

The C 43 also gets AMG-specific suspension and drivetrain calibration as well as a high level of technology as standard, including a head-up display, intelligent lighting, online navigation and a Burmeister surround sound system.
AMG 19-inch wheels are standard, as is a sliding glass roof, and heated front seats.

Included on the safety list are nine airbags, a collision prevention assist system including semi-autonomous braking, active lane keeping, blindspot assist, attention assist, an active bonnet and a 360- degree camera.

Orders are being taken, with the car officially on sale in October. The sedan is priced at $116,400, the estate $119,400 and the coupe $120,900.
