BMW has released its new 6 Series Coupe in the NZ market with the sports-focused GT car slotting into the German car maker’s expanding model range.
Powering the BMW 650i is a 4.4-litre eight-cylinder engine which develops a maximum 300 kW and peak torque of 600 Nm. It is partnered with an eight-speed Sports automatic gearbox as standard. Steering wheel paddles are included and M gearshift logic.
“The all-new BMW 6 Series Coupe is the perfect mix of performance and pleasure and over-delivers on all expectations,” said the Managing Director of BMW New Zealand, Mark Gilbert. The design of the Coupe epitomises BMW dynamism, as one only has to note the stance of the new model to understand its potential. As anticipated, its all-round performance is exhilarating and the aural experience created by the optional M-Sport package featuring unique exhaust tuning has to be heard to be appreciated.
The new 6-Series has extra length and width over its predecessor and a 5-millimetre lower height to produce a low-slung and athletic design.
The 6-Series interior is exclusive to the model and features a flowing design with a driver orientation. Nappa leather trim is used throughout.
Equipment includes a range of BMW ConnectedDrive driver assistance systems. There’s also features like the latest-generation BMW Head-Up Display (with high-definition, full-colour graphics), rear-view camera, Surround View, Lane change and Lane departure warnings, Parking Assistant, comfort access as well as front and rear park distance control.
The launch of the new model also signals the introduction of new adaptive LED headlights. The Adaptive LED Headlights have three-dimensional LED light rings that function as parking lights and daytime running lights.
From October 1, all new BMW models will feature Driveaway pricing, meaning the advertised price is the final transaction price with no more to pay. This new pricing policy provides more pricing transparency for the customer and enhances their new car buying experience.
The new BMW 6 Series Coupe has a driveaway price of $236,700 and is available at any of the nine authorised BMW dealerships around the New Zealand. The M-Sport package is available for an additional $5,500.
