New Audi A4 arrival in the first quarter of 2016

Audi AG has opened the order book for the new A4 sedan and Avant in European markets, and it’s officially due in New Zealand in the first quarter of 2016.

Audi New Zealand marketing manager Fiona Woolley says the choice of petrol or diesel engines, and range of specification for the New Zealand bound A4 sedan and Avant models is yet to be confirmed by the importer.

According to Audi AG, the new A4 offers cutting-edge drive technologies and a wide range of infotainment and driver assistance systems in both midsize models.

Audi says the new A4 sedan boasts the best-in-class drag coefficient of just 0.23 (Avant: 0.26) and it is lighter by a much as 120kg in weight compared with its predecessor.

Under the bonnet is a new 2-litre TFSI Ultra four-cylinder turbocharged petrol engine that develops 140kW, but consumes 4.8L/100km, and has a C02 emission figure of 109g/km for the sedan.

The A4 Avant with this engine consumes 5L/100km and emits C02 of 114g/km.

Technologies that make their first appearance in the new A4 include Matrix LED headlights, adaptive cruise control including traffic jam assist, Audi virtual cockpit and a Bang & Olufsen 3D audio system.

In Europe, prices for the Audi A4 Sedan start at 30,650 Euro. The Avant is available at an extra charge of 1850 Euro.
