All-electric Atomik 500 is future-tastic

The Fiat/Chrysler group hasn’t given word on weather it will produce an electric version of the Fiat 500 to market, but now it appears that someone else will.

A new company named Atomik Cars has taken the 500 Abarth and made it not just cleaner but faster too. The new company’s aim is to deliver a zero-emission vehicle that mixes true sportscar performance within a city car vessel.

With output from its AC brushless synchronous electric motors producing power equivalent to that of a 300 horsepower engine, the Atomik reaches 100kph in just 5.6 seconds. It is loaded with new tech including lithium iron phosphate (LiFePO4) batteries, a ceramic heating system to warm occupants and a “Peltier A/C module w/o gas” to cool them. The futuristic vehicle is set for an April debut at the Top Marques Monaco show, but its exclusivity is guaranteed with only around 50 copies being produced.
