ABT goes to work on the new Golf GTI

The ABT Volkswagen Golf VI GTI program has just been unveiled and is probably the first one for the new model that includes both performance upgrades and styling modifications.

The ABT GTI comes with two power levels that take the 2.0 TSI engine to either 256 hp or 295 hp. The standard GTI develops 207 hp. The 256 hp Golf VI GTI gets its new motivation through a re-programmed ECU, while the quicker version adds an upgraded turbocharger. The 295hp version of the ABT GTI gets from 0 to 100 km/h in 6.0 seconds and comes equipped with a 30 millimeters lower suspension and upgraded brakes.

The aerodynamics package includes a new rear bumper and spoiler attachment, side skirts, a new front grill and apron and a new 4-pipe exhaust system.

The interior is upgraded with various new accents. Pricing for the aftermarket work hasn’t been announced yet.
