2011 Porsche 911 Speedster to be revealed at Paris Motor Show

Along with the 911 Carrera GTS, Porsche has also included this 911 Speedster as part of its arsenal for the big release at the Paris Motor Show. The German manufacturer announced only today its plan to reveal the Speedster, however this machine will be an extremely limited edition.

Just 356 units are set to be made – a number inspired by the 1953 Porsche 356 Speedster – the 911 Speedster will be powered by the same 300kW 3.8 litre flat-six that is seen in the Carrera GTS, including Porsche’s seven-speed PDK dual-clutch transmission.

911 Speedster also adopts a modified windscreen that is nearly 7cm lower than the regular 911’s windscreen. The 911 Speedster is also benefited from the wider rear-end of the Carrera 4S Cabriolet.

Among the delicate styling differences, a distinctive plastic cover sits behind the seats, hiding a flat, manually operated fabric roof.

This very unique Speedster that is heavily influenced from the previous Porsche models, will be available in only one specification. It gets almost all of Porsche’s optional extras, including checkerboard patterns in the seat centre in either Pure Blue or Carrera White, with a black smooth-finish leather interior.
