2011 Land Rover LRX to debut in Paris

Land Rover is getting ready to debut the production version of its hotly anticipated LRX at the Paris Motor Show later this year. Shortly after, it will make its North American debut in LA. Apparently, the LRX is set to go on sale in the third quarter of 2011.

The LRX Concept was first viewed at the 2008 Detroit Auto Show, where it impressed both the press and the showgoing public with it’s blend of sharp styling and traditional presence. The LRX is expected to be Land Rover’s most efficient model ever and is likely to be offered with a hybrid powertrain.

It’s rumoured that Land Rover’s first hybrid drivetrain would include a 3.0-litre diesel V6 engine mated up to a 25kW electric motor. This system would be a ‘full parallel hybrid’, which means it could operate on any combination of gasoline or electricity using an onboard lithium ion battery pack.
