The $5,000 puncture

The $5,000 puncture

Here’s a reason not to shell out $850,000+ on a new Rolls-Royce Phantom: if you get a puncture, no one in New Zealand can take the tyre off the wheel. You have to send the wheel to Australia to get the tyre replaced, and the tyres themselves aren’t cheap. I’m not sure whether Rolls-Royce gives you a full-sized spare or a space saver like the Japanese, but you’d better make sure that you’ve got an alternative form of transport – you don’t want to be slumming it with the plebs on the bus while you wait for the $5,000 bill to arrive!
