Kids – don’t try this at home!

Back when I was a kid and I was spending time with my favorite babysitter the Television, as soon as a program that began with the old cliche disclaimer “Kids don’t try this at home” my ears would perk up. Not because I knew an exciting show was about to come on, but because I was always keen for new ideas to do stupid crap.

“Kids don’t try this at home,” is a secret children’s code for ‘we are about to show you something you can actually do at home, but really shouldn’t because it’s dangerous.’ Absolutely brilliant. Five minutes after hearing these special words my sister would be having some wrestling move put on her or we would be in the garage looking for ingredients to build some dangerous device.

It seems like times have changed and they haven’t, kids still do dumb stuff but now they have much better vehicles with which to do it. And like monkeys, kids see, then kids do. With the likes of Ken Block screaming sideways all over the internet in his over powered Subaru gymkhana car it’s little wonder some kids are trying to emulate his radical sideways action on a smaller scale, a much smaller scale.

Check the video below to see what I mean, and kids, don’t try this at home.
