Awash with info, and the Forester launch

The Geneva Motor Show has started and the automotive journalists are awash with news. Which do you pick? A lot of it isn’t really relevant to New Zealand. It’s not like the New Zealand car distributors flood us with information anyway because the US and Europe often get different models to us. We really need to look to the Japanese domestic market (JDM models).

New Zealand’s entire car market is about the same as Sydney, so we barely register on the radar. More on this in another post. Meanwhile…

This afternoon I’m flying to Rotorua for the Subaru Forester launch. Based on the last two Subaru launches I attended (WRX, and Tribeca/WRX STI), there’s bound to be an interesting drive program and a minimum of Chris Rickards (GM of Subaru in NZ) telling us stuff we can read in the press material supplied while we’re all dying to get out in the car. That’s good because, while Chris is one of the nicest guys you’ll ever meet, all we really want to do is drive the cars and form our own opinions.

So, normal service may resume on Monday (unless I’m inclined to make a post tomorrow night).
